  • What happens in a rehearsal?
Each rehearsal starts with a vocal warm-up to get body, brain and voice into gear for singing. Some songs are taught by rote, call-and-response style, others with lyrics or sheet music as appropriate. Throughout the rehearsal Sarah will give vocal technique tips and encouragement to help everyone make the best of their voice. Rehearsals are fun and relaxed and include a break for a chat and a glass of wine (or something soft)!
  • What sort of music do you sing?
We sing a variety of repertoire at every rehearsal, so there's something for everyone! From Mozart to Motown and everything in between, including pop and jazz classics, gospel, popular classical tunes, world music and songs from the shows.
  • Do I need to be able to read music?
You don't need to be able to read music, although if you do, that's great! Some of the songs will be taught by ear, some with lyric sheets and some with sheet music. Learning tracks are provided on the website so you can sing along at home!

"Belonging to the choir has made a huge difference to my life and I know it has to others too. Singing and making new friends, all with an inspiring teacher who gets the most out of us and teaches us new things while keeping it fun - and then being able to perform and show what we can do.  Yesterday was a truly uplifting occasion - no wonder we all went out on a high!"  Jill, Choir Member
